Mick Timpson is an award-winning architect, artist, author, yoga and meditation teacher, and accredited coach and mentor.

With a First Class Honours Degree and Master’s in Architecture with Distinction, Mick spent more than 35 years designing and leading creative projects around the world — from Mexico, Manchester and Moscow to Mumbai. His architectural and artistic work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy, Saatchi Gallery, RIBA and CUBE.

Today, Mick brings together his experience of architecture, art, yoga, meditation and creative thinking through his teaching, workshops and writing. As founder of beanddo™, he explores practical ways to help people become more aware, creative and intentional in how they live and work.

Mick is the author of Making Happy Work and A Modern Way to Meditate, and is currently developing The Inner Studio, a book exploring creativity, consciousness and the creative process.

Although retired from architectural practice, Mick remains actively involved in design and education. He is a visiting lecturer at Manchester School of Art, where he teaches creative thinking, drawing and design, and is a Senior Member of Yoga Alliance Professionals and Senior Practitioner with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.

At the heart of Mick’s work is a simple idea: creativity isn’t just something we do — it’s a way of being.

As Mick often says, his work now is about designing change from the inside out — helping people rediscover the creative intelligence and emotional depth that define our true human potential.

He is inspired by one of his boyhood heroes, Apollo Astronaut Ed Mitchell who said:

“We need to make the world safe for creativity and intuition, for it’s creativity and intuition that will make the world safe for us.”
